new year...new ways...

Welcome 2014!!
So glad that you're here.

I just wanted to take a moment to share a message, from 2 weeks ago, that really helped me focus for this new year! I've never been one to write down goals....why? Well...I have no idea really. But this year that all changes. I feel more challenged and more enthusiastic.
Here are some sermon notes to help you get focused too.

*Reaching your goals in 2014*
Write it down!
Habakuk 2:2-3 MSG
"And then God answered: “Write this.
    Write what you see.
Write it out in big block letters
so that it can be read on the run.
This vision-message is a witness
    pointing to what’s coming.
It aches for the coming—it can hardly wait!
    And it doesn’t lie.
If it seems slow in coming, wait.
It’s on its way. It will come right on time."

Jeremiah 29:11 MSG
"I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you,
not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for."

Hope in our future gives us power in the present.
If we don't have a plan for life then life is just gonna happen to us.
Our goals should constantly be before us.
Read through them daily.
The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is very small..
How do we set these goals?
Matt 6:23 - Seek first the kingdom...Don't seek the plan of God but seek God and then after we are seeking God we will know His plan/will for our lives..... Jer 29:11
He puts His desires in us.
Righteous, holy desires are what we need to pursue.

Look at your:
...Spiritual goals...
...Physical goals...
...Intellectual goals...(read, study)
...Social goals....(relationships, marriage, parenting)
...Financial goals....

*The elements of a goal*
-need to write it down
-write down the benefits of a goal, what doors might open for you? What might I learn?
-be specific (to be able to measure it, use numbers = ex. Save $5 a week)
-they should be positive and present tense, even if the goal is to do less like watch less tv
-simple (clear & plain) but make them big, have a big goal to stretch you but break it down into small parts so it's attainable
-read your goals constantly and consistently (Hab 2:2)
-if goals are not written down then they don't exist...
-if you write it down then you can adjust along the way...see improvement
Consistency is key!

I just loved those points, so easy that anyone can do it. So I started my own list of goals and we are 2 and a half weeks into this year and I am already chopping away at those goals, that gives me hope and makes me feel like I can cross those goals off as DONE! What a great feeling.
Let's encourage each other and push each other to greatness, growth, goodness and reaching our goals. It CAN be done.
Another thing that I started is writing confessions of faith over my family....speak it in faith, thank Him for it and be amazed as God brings them to pass.
Just a few....

*Confessions of faith*
14 in the bible is the number for double, so 2014 we believe for double peace, double anointing, double blessing.... Our family is prospering, we have more than enough to take care of us and to bless others.
We are enjoying abundant life in Christ
We are the head and not the tail
My family has perfect health
My family has perfect peace
We are growing stronger
We are moving forward
We are favored by God
We are tested to be a testimony
We are more than conquerors
*Confessions for Zariah*
She is wise
She is kind
She is loving
She has a healing spirit
She has a peaceful spirit
She brings joy
She is strong willed
She is a peacemaker
She is a peace carrier
She doesn't give up, she doesn't give in
She is full of inner beauty
She is not easily hurt or offended
She is full of grace
She is a obediant

Hope this encourages, motivates and blesses you all, for the future, as it has for me.
I'd love to hear some of your own goals and confessions of faith!
Move forward, change the things that haven't worked for you and push beyond your limits.

*Happy 2014*

eat well, live well

I'm part of a 30 day Beachbody challenge and I am so proud of myself for sticking to it and pushing through. I'm actually making better choices willingly and not just because "I should" or "I have to" but because I want to. Soooo this salad here was clean & yummy. I made my own delicious salad dressing, which was adapted from this pin and loaded the salad with all the veggies I could find then added this homemade topping. This was too easy not to. I'm finally putting my pinterest account to use (which is also a goal this year...to actually try the things I've pinned).
Baby steps!
This year is off to a great start.

What changes are you making in 2014?

even baby girl is eating "clean"  heeheeheehee!
that's a veggie straw in her hand, a favorite snack these days.
