Yay for new hair!!!

There it is, I chopped it off!! And for good reason. I've always wanted to donate my hair to Locks of Love and today I decided it would be the day I finally did it.
My hubby was out of town and I wanted to surprise him so I decided to head out to do this thing. Well, in my excitement, I totally forgot to book an appointment (on a Saturday, in the middle of the day, I know, dumb) and I ended up frustrated. I visited a few places in the area and called a few places no one had availability so I was going to head home but then I remembered a place by my favorite Target store. So I looked up their number, called, and they had room for me. I walked in nervously and sat down. When the lady came over to ask me what I was looking to do today I told her that I was going real short. I had already tied my hair back and it was braided, since Locks of Love requests it to be donated that way. She just loved the fact that I came prepared with my hair ready to be chopped off and shipped out.
Another stylist heard me telling her and immediately came over to me and said "hey, well we can send it over to Locks of Love for you.....and your haircut is free!" I was so shocked I'm pretty sure my jaw dropped.

F R E E?!!

How amazing is that?

And here I was just minutes before frustrated and ready to go back home when God had it set up all along. He's so good and I am so glad for His perfect timing.

Now someone else will have the joy of a new 'do.
Doing this gave me such great joy.
I can truly say it's better to give than to recieve.

Here it is... All 16 inches of it.
It's a little creepy looking but it's a cool story and those sweet ladies made me feel amazing.
Plus, I love my new hair.

Has anyone out there ever donated your hair?

I'd love to hear about it.
Good night!

Lovely day

I enjoy nature...because, after all, it's God's creation...it's so relaxing to get lost in too. This picture above was taken while visiting a friend. I just love their part of town because it almost feels like I'm in Puerto Rico, oh the beauty of the island! The best thing about moving to a new place is that there is SO much loveliness to be discovered. I have truly enjoyed getting lost in the middle of nowhere and just finding a new beautiful place. Here are some lovely pictures from around town.
(Some new & some old but all are lovely!)

(I think my daughter may have taken this picture!)

Out & about

Last week I packed up my little babe and headed out for a stroll through a pretty little area very close to my home. Historic St. Peter's. I'm in love with our neighborhood, it has such a small town feel, it's perfect and so was the day. See!

A bakery and cafe opening soon. Yay!

Cutest little shop.

Isn't it lovely?

Missouri sure is pretty!

So last week I discovered a new area of beauty very close to where I live. In downtown St. Charles there is an old historic area and I had a BLAST walking around taking pictures and posting videos on Vine. I was so fascinated with this place. I'll just cut straight to the chase (for your enjoyment, hehehe!)
Beauty all around....

Cute little vintage & handmade store.

It was a gorgeous day out with the family. Also my grandma has been here visiting so that is extra sweet. Isn't Missouri pretty?! I told ya! I'm really enjoying discovering this place. There were all kinds of shops I didn't get to see them all but I will be visiting again.

Snow in the springtime....oh yes!

{From the first day we moved to Missouri}

So I hear that it's still snowing in parts of the US [even just a couple hours away from me]......WHAT??!! It's MAY! Geeeesh!
A couple of weeks ago I was rolling around in 15 inches of now...on Palm Sunday actually. I was so thrilled to wake up and see that it was snowing. I thought "how exciting?!!" After living in Florida for so many years, you never see snow. And then I lived in Texas where it doesn't snow ever, except for one freakishly cold February morning back in 2011, which I took full advantage of. Anyways, I haven't lived up north since I was a little girl so snow is just amazing to me. My fellow Missouri friends didn't feel the same way, but I enjoyed it. I was thrilled because it was springtime and it SNOWED! Ahhhhhh! I felt like the luckiest girl ever. Naturally, I played in it like a child, while everyone else was out shoveling snow I was jumping around in it, haha! That's how I do.

Warm coke? Not a problem anymore

The beginning of that beautiful day!

The church parking lot
My first time driving in the snow & I got stuck coming up our driveway :(
The beautiful tree in front of my house.

I couldn't have been happier.

My very own little!

My daughter is 6 months old....don't really know how that happened so quickly but it's true. I am really grateful that she is such a happy, healthy and fun little baby. She really is a joy, the first couple months were such a crazy adjustment to this Parenthood thing. My baby suffered from severe and painful acid reflux. It broke my heart but once we figured that out we immediately put her on meds and they helped her greatly. She needed them until around 5 months old. She outgrew it just like the doctors said. So we have started giving her solid foods. Since I'm a SAHM I have time to make all her foods and I really enjoy it, honestly. I get to bake, boil, steam and puree everything that my little person eats. It's exciting  for her and I. She enjoys every bite. She loves to eat and sleep these days......she is soooooooo my daughter. Sleeping & eating are my most favorite things, hers too these days. She used to get so hungry that she would wake up every couple hours at night just to eat and go back to sleep immediately  But now....thank God, she sleeps from 10-12 hours at night and usually takes 2 naps a day for as long as 2 hours. It is amazing! I get so much done during the day....but then I miss her while she is napping.
I'm so thrilled that she is growing by leaps and bounds! She's such a doll. Can you imagine how excited I am?!
I am O B S E S S E D with taking pictures of her, it's kind of ridiculous but oh well....she's my baby I can do what I want. LOL!
Here are just a few fun pictures from the last week or two.

This is quite comical...I give her a ball to play with  but when she discovered the tag on the boppie she left the ball to the side and had a field day with the tag, Ha! My little girl is hilarious.
No need to buy toys, if something has a tag she'll be entertained.

In the mornings I find her with one leg free from her jammies and not one button undone...I'm always  impressed!
Who can resist chunky little baby thighs?! Not I!
