(A poem about Marriage by William Coleman)
Turn the radio off.
Put the paper down.
Give the TV a rest.
I want to hear you--and hear you alone.
Send the children out to play.
Take the telephone off the hook.
I want to listen to your voice and yours alone.
I want to hear how you feel and know what you think.
Tell me what your heart feels, what your mind wonders and how your soul hungers.
Put the car keys back.
Close the door.
Be later for your next appointment.
Share with me what makes you laugh.
Remind me what makes you upset.
I want to hear your voice and keep in touch with your spirit.
