oh for grace to trust Him more

Have you ever had one of those "come to your senses moments"? When you realize just how far God's mercy and grace extends? I've been reflecting lately on His powerful hand of protection.

I've made lots of bad choices, put myself in some scary situations but by God's wonderful grace I'm still here, still standing. 

I don't know how or why he loves me so much but He does and guess what...? 

He loves you too! 

Every single bit of you. 

I've read it before, "Grace is when God gives us what we don't deserve. Mercy is when God doesn't give us what we do deserve." 

I've had this old hymn in my head that last few days:

I love when I find a song that touches my soul literally. This song lately is ringing in my head. A couple months back our Pastor did a sermon series entitled "It's not over" so we sang this song all month long and every time we sang it, I just cried as we worshipped because I felt that God was speaking to me about some things. Inspiration for today!

It's Wednesday and sometimes by this time you've run out of the energy or enthusiasm that you had earlier in the week. Need a mid-week pick me up? I do. I heard this song today and the lyrics in this song are just what I needed to be reminded of. Sometimes I forget that I am a mother that is constantly needed and I try to be superwoman thinking I can do or accomplish everything that I need to in one day. I'll get there, just not as quickly as I did before. I'm way too hard on myself for no reason. 

Take a minute, take a breather and do the best you can.....that is enough! 

God is everything we could ever need. Be encouraged today, baby steps will get you to your goal. Consistency is key. God is for you!

Time for lots of Christmas music!

I love the HOLIDAYS! But of course who doesn't?! There are a ton of reasons to love the holidays, but for me it doesn't ever feel officially Christmas until I hear all that Christmas music playing on the radio and in the stores as I shop. I can never get tired of it. 

I would enjoy some snow to get the season started as well, but that isn't very common here in San Antonio, TX so I'll just have to take what I can get.

Side note: The Chipmunks Christmas music was a tradition in our household when I was growing up. And I found this record in a thrift store last week and couldn't resist buying it, now my daughter can get used to hearing it!

Jesus Culture!

Last month my hubby worked an event for a youth convention that had Jesus Culture as the worship leaders! Just in case you know little or nothing about them here is some history: Jesus Culture is a ministry that started in Bethel Church in Redding, CA. They are dedicated to mobilizing a generation to shape culture and transform nations. Jesus Culture was birthed out of Bethel’s youth group where Banning Liebscher was the youth pastor for ten years. Jesus Culture is impacting a generation through conferences, events, music, Campus Awakening, and the training of emerging leaders. Banning’s passion is to see a generation of revivalists raised up who have encountered the extravagant love of Jesus and have given themselves for worldwide revival. 
I actually got to hear Pastor Banning preach that evening and I was definitely inspired to be a better leader & christian. I was so ecstatic to be there and be a part of it. I love the music and worship atmosphere that they create. See for yourself!

Michael Franti & Spearhead [pre-Santana entertainment]

A couple of weeks ago we were so excited to be given tickets
 [..great tickets, might I add..] to see Carlos Santana in concert!

What a phenomenal musician he is! 

He was in SATX and he rocked the AT&T center it was a great show and he's not cheap at all it was a full 2 & a half hours of Santana enjoyment!

But first, before he took the stage there was a great musician by the name of Michael Franti with Spearhead. Oh boy was he fun!
He was all over the place, in the crowd then on the stage, we didn't know where to find him next.
He even came our way and I snuck in a photo with him....hehehe! Loved every moment of the concert!!! Most fun I have had with my hubs in a while!

My audition for THE VOICE!

I'm sorry this post is loaded with lots of detail....but I promise it has purpose! Read on...

I wanted to share a very exciting experience with you all! This week I put aside nerves, fears, etc... and tried out for that amazing new NBC show "The VOICE" [You should definitely be proud of me! hahaa!] I am a total chicken when it comes to those things, I have always had this attitude that I'm not good enough to make it and while this may possibly be true, I put on my big girl panties and sucked up my pride. It was so liberating! I must say I am so proud of myself [my husband was so encouraging and practically made me do it, he's amazing]!!! Although I didn't make it past the first round, I have a new confidence and aspiration for myself. You see, singing has been something I have been in love with my ENTIRE life! There is just a special quality it has. I feel like music is the language I speak most fluently!! I express myself so much better through music and writing! Ok ok so I'm done with that mushy stuff haha! Here is a little of my experience!

So I woke up at 1am on Wednesday morning got ready, packed some snacks and got on the rode at about 2:30 and drove 3 hours and 45 minutes to Houston, Texas. The entire time I was laughing at myself thinking I was nuts for doing this but I knew I had to do it. I had been excited about it for weeks now! So I did vocal lessons in the car, warmed up my voice, practiced and talked to God [A LOT], it was awesome! I got there at about 6:15 & there was already a huge crowd outside. Doors opened at 7am and I must say that it moved very quickly, I was impressed with the overall experience and organization. One of the producers of the show came out to talk to us and give us some good pointers. But mostly just told us that we needed to relax, be ourselves, be genuine, and to form new friends/family. He promised that the show was about treating us with integrity and respect [he was not lying either].

So once inside they checked us in & moved us to a room of about 500-600 people. There, we waited a bit then went to smaller rooms of about 100-150 people then took us by rows of 14 people at a time to our audition rooms. I must say the entire time all the crew from "The VOICE" was amazing & so sweet, they totally treated us with respect! My favorite part was that they addressed us all as "Artists" I felt so appreciated.It was so amazing to know that we were all there for the same reason and it was cool to see people all around you warming up there voices, doing vocal runs, and what not. Anywhooo, we went into rooms by a group of 14 ARTISTS at a time. Ahhhhhh this was the hardest part of it all, knowing I had to sing in front of my new buddies! Well I was #6 up to sing and once I opened my mouth nothing but confidence came out! I was really proud of myself. I sang "Love is your color" by Jennifer Hudson. We only got to sing a verse and a chorus, not an entire song but it was good enough time to show what we got, haha! And boy was there talent in that room! I got chills from some of those people as they sang! Unfortunately, once we all finished, the judge in the room decided not to pick any one from our group of "Artists" but she let us down so kindly that I was not even sad, in fact I felt brave & she encouraged us to audition again next year.

So like I have said, I am so excited about my new found confidence. I have to give a big THANK YOU shout out to the people who work for "The VOICE" they were all so great & encouraging. I would definitely try out again. I also got to meet some talented people in the journey, I am so grateful for all of it!!! So I encourage you guys to go after what you want, tackle your dreams,  walk/run/leap through open doors because you never know when your opportunity will come! [Sorry that I don't have more pics but we weren't allowed to take pics inside the building]

Martha Munizzi Worship Weekend

This past weekend we had Martha Munizzi come and minister at our church here in San Antonio, TX.

Her singing with our team!

It was exciting and eventful. Our choir, orchestra, band, rhythm & audio teams have been working so hard to learn her music and to prepare for this weekend. EVERYONE did a phenomenal job and God was glorified!! We even streamed live on Saturday night and people all over the country watched and worshiped the Lord with us! The response back was overwhelming. I am personally SO EXTREMELY proud of my own husband [who is a talented, anointed young man]! He ran the sound for Martha and his crew of men were there to oversee the transition from one service to another, and to help the evening be a huge success by taking care of all the 'issues' that showed up this weekend. Here is a picture of my amazing husband!!
