Meet our Child!

Meet our child....Wandile Sifundza!!! He is a 6 year old boy who lives in Swaziland, Africa. He was abandoned by his parents and lives with his grandma, but he gets to go to school during the day and learn about God [thanks to our giving!]. He likes to play soccer and he likes to pray!

A couple of months ago David & I decided to sponsor a child! So we linked up
with an organization called Mission of Mercy. They are an excellent program for sponsoring children, our church currently sponsors over 700 children through this organization. Through Mission of Mercy the children are fed 2 warm meals a day, they are given a Christian Education, and taught to speak English. We were thrilled to sponsor a child. I have always wanted to do it, so we did!

Another thrill of sponsoring a child is getting things in the mail from them! :D [this is truly a joy!] We received this in the mail today! He wrote us in Swahili and it was translated into English "Merry Christmas, Peace be with you."  My heart just melted I must say it was very exciting to see the fruit of our giving. We also have the option to write to him and to send him gifts. David and I also love sponsoring  a child becasue it is so much cheaper than having our own...LOL... but in all reality I would be great to someday adopt him, but for now he at least lives with his grandma out there so he has some family. David jokes that he would like to bring him to the states to play football [Geeez such a boy thing to say...] Have you considered sponsoring a child? You should it is so rewarding!

Sweet littles Dates (btw this is my 100th blog post..YAY!!)

A couple of weeks ago, hubs & I went on a date [to do my fave things....SHOP & EAT!] We went to a place we never tried before calledGrimaldi's Pizzeria it's about 15 minutes away and it is decorated NY style. It was delicious food at a great price! I really enjoy finding yummy new places to eat, I am a major FOODIE [that's just one reason why my nickname it FAT GIRL & I don't mind, don't get me wrong I do not believe that I am fat, I just eat like I am!] I just can't help it, I truly appreciate good food. So any gathering, fellowship, girl time, etc. should include food because food is THE WAY to my heart! haha! OH...and pizza is something I could probably survive on, on a daily basis, seriously it is just sooooo YUM YUM!! I wish that I would have become a professional food taster because then I would really make good money...hahaha! Anyways, I highly   recommend this place. So check it out if you live in San Antonio or if you are visiting. I guarantee you will LOVE it! Here are some pics of that day :D Enjoy!

He decided to "try" my salad and liked it! [this is a miracle...btw]
