D-bo & Esha....a special kind of Love!

Last night after I blogged I was listening to our wedding song "When God made you" by Newsong & Natalie Grant and I just smiled....so I wanted to share some pics of us

I just LOVE this man to no end! He is amazing in every way so I just want to take a minute to brag on him & thank God for His undeserved blessings over my life. This man has been such a source of strength, peace, calm, stability, wisdom like you wouldn't believe, and an image of God to me!

My husband is such a Godly man and reflects the type of husband that the Bible calls men to be!

I know many women hate the fact that they must "submit to, or respect" their husbands and my heart breaks for them, but my husband makes it so easy for me to fulfill my godly role as his wife! He is just so amazing that I can't help but honor him, it just flows right out of me! Now don't get me wrong, I'm moody, I have a bad attitude sometimes [especially when I am not fed!] I can be very rude at times....hahaha I'm Puerto Rican & a pinch of Italian so go figure. So when I say that "this stuff flows out of me" I mean it comes from my heart but sometimes my character gets in the way...just needed to clarify that b/c I am not the most compliant wife but he works well with me ;)

We have so much fun together just D-bo & I! We are silly together, we laugh, cry [well I cry], joke, and flirt with each other ALWAYS...and there is just no telling where life will take us. But one thing I know for sure, since we are together we are unstoppable and helplessly happy....Thank you Lord because you knew just what I needed!! Well enough of my babbling and drooling over my husband...haha ;)

Hello! Hello!

I realized that I haven't posted about my weight loss happenings since June or something. 

Ok so here is the scoop...I have been wanting to shed some pounds that have made there home on this body of mine...haha! Really, I just want to get back to my "normal" weight and be tone again!

I am mostly feeling the pinch because I have 3 weddings in the next 5 months and I am a bridesmaid for each of these...so that means I've got to fit into these dresses comfortably!

So I knew I needed some accountability. I found it in this handy lil app called My Fitness Pal and I just love it!! It figures everything out for me. I just put in my current weight, my goal weight and how much I would like to lose per week. I'm just trying to lose 1 pound per week....that's recommended for a healthy start ;)

So since about mid July I have lost 6 pounds.

I love the app because all I have to do is log what I eat at each meal as well as the portion size I had, and it even has a cool barcode scanner feature so it will instantly pop up.

You should try it out, it's AWESOME!

Also I can input my workouts and it will calculate how many calories I burned and all! 

I'll try to update on a regular basis so that I can motivate you & you motivate me....[PLEASE]!

My audition for THE VOICE!

I'm sorry this post is loaded with lots of detail....but I promise it has purpose! Read on...

I wanted to share a very exciting experience with you all! This week I put aside nerves, fears, etc... and tried out for that amazing new NBC show "The VOICE" [You should definitely be proud of me! hahaa!] I am a total chicken when it comes to those things, I have always had this attitude that I'm not good enough to make it and while this may possibly be true, I put on my big girl panties and sucked up my pride. It was so liberating! I must say I am so proud of myself [my husband was so encouraging and practically made me do it, he's amazing]!!! Although I didn't make it past the first round, I have a new confidence and aspiration for myself. You see, singing has been something I have been in love with my ENTIRE life! There is just a special quality it has. I feel like music is the language I speak most fluently!! I express myself so much better through music and writing! Ok ok so I'm done with that mushy stuff haha! Here is a little of my experience!

So I woke up at 1am on Wednesday morning got ready, packed some snacks and got on the rode at about 2:30 and drove 3 hours and 45 minutes to Houston, Texas. The entire time I was laughing at myself thinking I was nuts for doing this but I knew I had to do it. I had been excited about it for weeks now! So I did vocal lessons in the car, warmed up my voice, practiced and talked to God [A LOT], it was awesome! I got there at about 6:15 & there was already a huge crowd outside. Doors opened at 7am and I must say that it moved very quickly, I was impressed with the overall experience and organization. One of the producers of the show came out to talk to us and give us some good pointers. But mostly just told us that we needed to relax, be ourselves, be genuine, and to form new friends/family. He promised that the show was about treating us with integrity and respect [he was not lying either].

So once inside they checked us in & moved us to a room of about 500-600 people. There, we waited a bit then went to smaller rooms of about 100-150 people then took us by rows of 14 people at a time to our audition rooms. I must say the entire time all the crew from "The VOICE" was amazing & so sweet, they totally treated us with respect! My favorite part was that they addressed us all as "Artists" I felt so appreciated.It was so amazing to know that we were all there for the same reason and it was cool to see people all around you warming up there voices, doing vocal runs, and what not. Anywhooo, we went into rooms by a group of 14 ARTISTS at a time. Ahhhhhh this was the hardest part of it all, knowing I had to sing in front of my new buddies! Well I was #6 up to sing and once I opened my mouth nothing but confidence came out! I was really proud of myself. I sang "Love is your color" by Jennifer Hudson. We only got to sing a verse and a chorus, not an entire song but it was good enough time to show what we got, haha! And boy was there talent in that room! I got chills from some of those people as they sang! Unfortunately, once we all finished, the judge in the room decided not to pick any one from our group of "Artists" but she let us down so kindly that I was not even sad, in fact I felt brave & she encouraged us to audition again next year.

So like I have said, I am so excited about my new found confidence. I have to give a big THANK YOU shout out to the people who work for "The VOICE" they were all so great & encouraging. I would definitely try out again. I also got to meet some talented people in the journey, I am so grateful for all of it!!! So I encourage you guys to go after what you want, tackle your dreams,  walk/run/leap through open doors because you never know when your opportunity will come! [Sorry that I don't have more pics but we weren't allowed to take pics inside the building]

DIY's to ATV's and everything in between...haha!

I love those weekends that just fly by because you're having fun! Although I broke my poor Mytouch 4g last week, my wonderful husband was able to restore an old iphone we had laying around and I'm back in action! 

Well I have been wanting to do a DIY shoe makeover for a while and although I still have some great things in store with that I did get around to one pair of shoes this weekend...here it is......

My sweet mother in law bought me these shoes and they originally had a brown, wood looking heel and I thought I would spray paint the bottoms black [it turned out perfect]! I will share more on my shoe makeover with more time! I just know this week will be busier than normal and I wanted to get in a quick blogging session......I really love blogging and I love all my readers!!!! MUAH!!!!!!

In other good news.....

My business cards arrived this week and they are so LOVELY! I have been getting more serious about my crafting, I need it to survive....haha! With all the trips I have coming up [and a missions trip in summer 2012....WOOOHOOO!!!] This lil lady had to act quick! Pray for me extra hard this week loved ones! I have 2 auditions that I am very excited & OH SO NERVOUS about! I'm not so much nervous about nailing the auditions as much as I am actually going through with it. I have found that quitting is sooooo easy and I am done with that! I want to conquer my giants and fight through my fears, so that is what this week is really about {COURAGE}. I'll tell you more in the next few days as I know more! Thanks for praying in advance! I'm off to bed....it is well past my intended bedtime :/

Behind her eyes...her story

I haven't exercised my writing talents in a while...the other night while I could sleep I wrote this and emailed it to myself...when I read it in the morning, I really liked it...so now I wanted to share with you all! [This isn't meant to mean anything specific, it's just poetry]

There is a pain in her eyes that she can't disguise.

Her world seems put together but she lives in lies.

Wanting others to believe that happiness abides while every minute she questions what truth really means. No one will truly know her if she doesn't know herself. Her world is built on fantasies that can never be.....until she is set free. Truth has become her aspiration as she thinks to herself 'One day....Maybe....I can only hope'.

She is convinced this is normal but she has no idea what that actually means.

Will someone save me from myself? Can anyone see that I'm a slave to lies? Does anyone one care to see this pain? Living in a lie I can't explain.... Moving forward but I get no gain Confusion, frustration, and anger remain but you love at me and clearly see, the things that I could never speak... I feel your yearning for truth as I look at you. The Lovely 'Tower of Americas!'

My favorite night of the week is DATE NIGHT [whatever day of the week that falls on]!

A few weeks ago we did the 'dinner with a view' thing.

 I'm such a sucker for a great restaurant with a view....here in San Antonio we have a landmark called 'Tower of Americas'

As you sit and enjoy your meal the restaurant slowly rotates & you get a lovely view of our fancy lil city.

I fell in love with it [although the prices were a lil steep] it was a great choice.

We left with our bellies full and our taste buds happy :D! 

I highly recommend this place!

Date night is truly my favorite but this night was extra special because it was double date night with the Beltran's!!

This weekend we get to have another date night and go ride ATV's....YIPPEEE!!!
